Facebook Fan Page | Content Sharing Made Easy Part 1

If you have a Facebook Fan Page, you might have this problem: Where will you find great content and when will you have time to post it. That’s exactly why I wrote this blog post and made this video. I have the solution! check it out.

Today what I want to talk to you about are a couple of apps that I found on Google Chrome that have really made my life easier.

Most of us are on Facebook and a lot of us have a Facebook Fanpage. It is important to share really great content with your fans. It doesn’t always have to be your own content.
The key is to post consistently…consistency can be a key to success.
Here’s the problem.
Where do you find the time to keep up with all of the content sharing and secondly where do you find all that content?
If you’re like me it’s been a daunting task but I found some really great tools and I want to share them with you.

I recently found a great tool I’d like to share with you because it really has saved me a lot of time and stress.
The solution is Feedly. Feedly is a Google Chrome App. You will find it in the Google App Store.
Once you log into Feedly you can customize it in several different ways.
But first you need to find some really awesome content by way of blogs and videos.
I have found some awesome blogs to follow via RSS feed….don’t worry if you don’t know what an RSS feed is because Feedly makes it easy…just click the follow button when you find a great blog.
After you find all these great blogs you want to oraganize and categorize them by subject or author or any way you like.
That’s it. One stop shopping for all the great blogs you love to follow.
From there you can curate information to use as ideas for you own blog posts.
I love this tool and I hope you will too.
Next up I will show you how I schedule all this great content to share it with my Facebook Fans.
That’s all for now.
Look for my next video on Buffer.

Why Use Facebook for Marketing?

Facebook is a huge part of our marketing world because it’s the largest social platform available to us.
One thing is certain about marketing on Facebook, there will be continual changes coming down the road. We as marketers are continually challenged to learn more new Facebook marketing strategies and find innovative ways to use them.
Next Up…..The Hashtag.

What are Facebook hashtags ?

This is a feature Twitter perfected and has been using for a long time. It’s purpose is to have real time conversations on trending keyword topics. It can also make a subject go viral.
Hashtags give you the opportunity to find other people using the same word or phrase. Simply use the # in your status update. The # along with the keyword  or keywords ( no spaces) is a clickable hyperlink made from the word or phrase you used. You can also use the search bar by entering the hashtag keyword. The hashtag icon will appear at the top of the page, click here to find unlimited status updates using the same hashtag keyword.

Once you see the blue hyperlink you can click on it to connect with other people talking about the same subject. This makes it easier to initiate engagement with people interested in the same things as you. You can now talk about the things you want to talk about and find plenty of people talking about the same thing.

Here are some Marketing via Facebook ideas using the new #hashtag feature.

  • Share your content using the #hashtag. Simply post a status update with the link to your blog post or video url along with the #keywords associated with your content. By sharing your content in this way you can find a wider audience on Facebook.
  • Connect with new people. You can use the hashtag with a keyword or phrase that is related to your niche. You can then find people talking about that subject or they can find you. In this way it makes it easier to connect with new people.
  • Create an event and use the #hashtag to help promote your event to a broader market.
  • Create a Facebook Fan Page using the #keyword and ask people interested in your keyword to join you for a more selective  group discussion .

Watch the video below for a tutorial on how to use  Facebook hashtags

What are the advantages of using the hashtag feature?
People will see what you posted even if they’re not on Facebook at the time you posted it.
Viewers can find specific information simply by using the hashtag.
People not following you can also find your status update because your keyword targets their interests. This also works in reverse since you can find people interested in your niche more easily.
You can join in on conversations and even answer questions on a specific subject.

Future plans for Facebook fan page marketing  using hashtags.
Facebook wants to tap into “real time advertising.” this will be coming in the future so be looking for more Facebook business marketing tips.
The hastags will be used to get your ad to the people talking about your subject. Amazingly it has been reported that there are between 88 to 100 million users on Facebook every night during “Primetime” This is huge!

What do you think about the new Facebook hashtag feature? Have you used it since they rolled it out? Do you have any suggestions you care to share about using it for marketing strategies?

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this new Facebook hashtag feature.

Get The Most Out Of Your Fan Page Status Updates

Fan Page Status Updates seem simple enough but there are a few things you should consider in order to maximize your efforts.

If you are a network marketer you’ve probably thought about using a Facebook Fan Page to promote your business or perhaps you already use a Facebook Fan Page to promote your business. In either case it’s a great tool to use. It gets you exposure, let’s you share content and  engage with your audience.

This blog post will explain how you can use fan page status updates in the most effective way so let’s get started.                                                                 www.tonyastephens.net

If you’ve been procrastinating  setting up your Fan Page because you don’t know how, never fear. I have provided a short video here to help you.  It’s really easy to do and I suggest you get on this task right away.

Once you have it set up you will want to add fans and then it’s your duty to consistently post great content with fan page status updates.

You want to post engaging content with your fan page status updates  that is of interest to your audience. You want to post things that will provoke a response so you can engage with your audience. In this way you will get to know them and they will get to know you. Attraction marketing is all about engagement and getting to know your audience and having them get to know you. Facebook can be a great venue for this type of interaction. Fan page status updates  are important because they give us a way to start the engagement.

What are some of the things you will want to post in your fan page status updates?

Very simply you can use text, pictures  and videos. These are some of the best ways to get exposure because they show up so well in the news feed. Pictures especially BIG pictures grab your audiences attention and they are more likely to click something that grabs their attention and also to  share it which is what you want. The more likes, comments and shares you get on your post the better. These likes, comments and shares directly affect your Edge Rank.

Videos can work as well if the cover picture and the text your use to describe the video is interesting or engaging. Another great way to get your audiences attention is with questions! By asking the right questions you gain more exposure and more shares. The key to asking the right questions is to understand your audience. What do they want? What do they want to improve? What are they interested in?

If you can start a dialog with your audience through questions you can begin to build a community through your fan page status updates.

Next is Polls. Polls  are another great way to start a dialog and engage with your audience. They are also found in the status update area and are very easy to set up. I have found that you cannot schedule a Poll  as a status update so be prepared to go real time with your poll.

Milestones: post a milestone that people care about. Make them relevant and give details about why you’re posting a Milestone.

Here are things you might like to know.

The best  fan page status updates should be short and sweet, not unlike a Tweet.

Keep your status updates to below 200 characters. Make sure your pictures are eye catching and relevant to the post. You can find images on Google images but make sure they do not have a copy write.  If you post a hyperlink keep it to only one hyperlink, don’t confuse your audience with multiple links! This is a no no. If you confuse your audience they will do nothing, so you’re wasting your time. If you use the @Tag the same apply s. No more than one @ Tag per post.

I usually post in the morning and then again in the evening. I have read that 8AM is a good time and then again from 6-9PM. It might be a good idea to check your insights to see exactly where your audience lives and post for their time zone.

Some things to remember as you nurture you Fan Page for maximum growth:

Don’t post all day long, you will become annoying to your audience and they will simply Un Like you.

Try to keep your content fresh in your fan page status updates.

Believe  it or not the real purpose of status updates for a Fan page  is to get users to like comment or share your post. It is not meant to sell things!

Why do want your audience to like, share or comment on your Fan Page post because things that show up inside your fans news feed are things that get the attention, remember Edge Rank.  The more likes comments and shares  you get the more exposure for your Fan Page.

Summary:

Know your audience: post about something that will interest them.

Have a single call to action

Don’t forget to use a big picture, this is most important in fan page status updates!

Ask a single question.

Post during peak hours 8 AM or 6-9 PM make sure you know the time zone your audience lives in.

Become an expert in what you are offering.

Think about the  big issues your audience has, their wants and needs and develop some of your posts around these issues.

What do they want to know about?

What do they share with their friends.

Be of real value to your audience.

Facebook Edge Rank: 4 Easy Tips for Improving Your Rank

Edge Rank

As an internet marketer your goal is to get exposure. The more exposure you get  the  better  your chance of finding and building an audience.

There are many ways to get noticed but one of the best ways is Facebook.

Facebook recently went through some significant changes. We as internet marketers need to understand these changes and stay current with the trends especially on Facebook. This blog post explains some of the changes and ways we can use these changes to help us gain our share of exposure we all need as internet marketers.

One of the most significant  changes is Facebook’s Edge Rank algorithm .  I will explain how Facebook is using this new formula to rank your Fan Page and how by understanding it better you can improve your Fan Page Ranking.

There are 3 parts to the Edge Rank formula: Affinity, Weight and Time Decay

 Edge Rank:Affinity

A measure of the amount of previous interaction a user has had with another on Facebook. This equals to more likes, shares and clicks. If someone is constantly liking sharing and clicking your posts, then your posts will show up more and more in that person’s news feed.

Edge Rank Weight: “Good Marketing”

A measure of the amount of activity on a post, picture, or other object in the newsfeed. This means the more a post is liked, shared and commented on will have a heavier weight than a post that has no activity. What gets your audience engaged? This is what you are going for. Likes, shares and comments win in Facebook

Edge Rank :Time Decay

The inversely proportional relationship between the time an object has been public and its exposure in the news feed. You initially get lots of exposure and over time it decreases. You always want to shoot for lots of engagement to delay time decay. Keep your content fresh!

My recommendation is to post once or twice a day, three times at the most to keep fresh relevant content. Take a few minutes a day to post to your Fan Page. If you want to automate you posts then it’s easy to do. That way if you’re not available for posting it’s done for you. Watch the video below to learn how to automate your posts. This will guarantee a constant steam of fresh content for your followers to engage with.

How can you improve your Edge Rank? Here are 4 Easy Tips to follow.

1. Encourage interaction: One easy way is to ask questions, think about all the elements in the Edge Rank. If you keep people engaged in your posts this will help affinity,

2. Use pictures and links: People love pictures and having a hyperlink available makes it easy for people to interact.

3. Commenting: If someone takes the time to comment on your post then you should always comment back to each user individually.

4. Post Consistently: at least once a day everyday.

I hope this blog post was helpful for you. Please feel free to share this information with your friends. You might also like this blog post  here
