network marketing mindset

Stuart Miles Free Digital Photos

Network marketing isn’t easy. Let me say that again….

Unfortunately the failure rate is extremely high. Can you believe 95%

There are many reasons for failure. Unrealistic expectations are a major factor. Most people are not ready for the reality of what it really takes to make a 6 figure income in this industry.

Put these on the list : dedication, persistence, a lot of hard work and a healthy dose of belief in yourself.

Let the truth be known.

Network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme.

It’s certainly understandable that most people get excited about the possibility of making so much money from a home based business. It’s an irresistible idea.

Mindset

The thing that surprises many newbies in network marketing is that mindset is the most crucial piece of the success puzzle. Most of us have to work very hard to get the right mindset and even harder to keep it.
This is an industry where personal development pays dividends.

The right mindset will carry you through the hard times and we all go through those hard times.
The reasons for desiring success are as varied as the network marketing participants but the struggle to get there is the same.

Network marketing mindset is the most critical aspect of success in your business and without it your efforts will go down the drain. Your prospects will sense when you have doubts. A signal is sent that you do not believe in this 100%.

How do you achieve a successful network marketing mindset?

Here are some network marketing tips for developing a mindset that will carry you through the rough seas and help you reach the level of success you deserve.

1. Reading the right materials
Reading motivational material helps to reprogram your subconscious mind. One of the best books IMHO to help foster belief in your infinite abilities and create a positive mindset is Napoleon Hill’s “Think and Grow Rich.” I have read and reread this book many times and learn something new each time. Reading it should be a prerequisite for every home business owner.
2. Being consistent
Work your business on a regular consistent schedule. Set a goal to talk to at least 5 people a day about your opportunity. The more you learn and implement what you learn the more you are likely to have success, even small success is motivating and energizing.
Every little success boost your positive mindset and helps you become more confident. It’s this confidence that fuels a positive mindset and goes a long way to help create more success.
3. Surrounding yourself with successful people
We’ve all heard it said that success leaves clues. Successful people are energized and have a positive mindset. Watch and learn from them. What are they doing to create success in their business? Learn from them.
4. Developing a mastermind partner or group
Napoleon Hill suggests you can achieve much more with a mastermind. A mastermind association is where a few people or many come together in harmony to attain a single purpose, there is great power in a mastermind. The results you achieve working through your mastermind group can fuel your positive mindset and help it develop.
5.  Saying Motivational Affirmations

Affirmations are a way to direct your subconscious mind.

Affirmations are positive statements that describe a desired situation. Affirmations can help you create thought habits and these habits can help you achieve your goals.
Affirmations should be positive in nature and they should be said with emotional feelings attached to them. It’s the emotion that your subconscious mind uses to create your reality.
These 5 tips have helped me in self development and I hope they help you.
Over to you. How do you stay in a positive mindset while working your business? Do you use any of the tips listed here? Do you have tips you’d like to share with the readers?
I’d love to hear about what you do to stay positive.

10 Ways To Reach Your Goals

Reach your goals they say. How you ask?

I listened to an interesting audio the other day as I drove to the gym, it  made a colossal impression. In fact it made such an impression I’ve had it on my mind for a few days and decided to write this blog post.  It’s a concept I wanted to share  with you. It is very simple and basic but definitely profound. It can help you reach your goals.Steve Covey wrote about this and called it The Law Of The Farm.

If you’re struggling with reaching your goals then keep reading.

reaching your goals

The law of the farm came about by observing the natural world around us. It states as in farming, success in life comes from regular disciplined, daily effort. Remember Jesus said as we sow so shall we reap.

As the farmer plows his field so should we prepare ourselves for success. You must stay focused in order to reach your goals.

If you are a farmer you cannot expect a bumper crop if you lay around fishing and riding horses for 3 months then scramble to plow and sow your seeds at the last minute to grow your crop.Mother nature doesn’t work that way and the farmer knows this.

The same is true for the student in college who parties all week and then tries to cram for his big exam. He may pass the test but doesn’t really learn the material. Long term meaningful success doesn’t happen this way.

To reach your goals : sow your seeds in all of the necessary activities.

Those activities include :

1. Being committed to your goals.

2. Being a lifelong student and getting the training you deserve.

3. Take massive action on the things you learn.

4. Don’t’ be afraid to make mistakes.

5. Learn from your mistakes

6. Find a mentor. Follow someone who is having success.

7. Become an expert at your marketing strategy. Teach others.

8. Be generous and have a positive attitude. Don’t let the weeds of negativity grow in your garden.

9. Step out of your comfort zone. If it makes you nervous you are on the right path.

10. Give gratitude for all you have in your life and for your small successes because they will add up to a big success.

Success is built slowly and with purpose that is focused, to reach your goals be consistent with the best efforts you can manage on a daily basis.

Earl Nightingale also wrote about success being a procession of days not  a sudden burst of activity. Success is

reaching your goals

Image courtesy of chanpipat at FreeDigitalPhotos.net

a cumulative effect of disciplined, daily effort.

Nightingale said looking back on success that the person looking back would not say one thing or one day was given credit but that a constant focus with consistent effort over many days was the key. You should live your life one day at a time and be the best you can be during that day.

Many people especially in Network Marketing and Internet Marketing want instant success and money to come their way and when it doesn’t happen fast they become disillusioned and lose their focus. They do not understand The Law Of the Farm.

They basically give up.

There is no get rich quick scheme or short cuts to success.

Remembering the Law Of The Farm can help you stay on tract and reach your goals. It is a natural process, you can’t change it.  You can try by taking part in shady strategies that are sure to backfire…it’s the cramming for the test mentality! You won’t reach your goals this way I asure you of that.

Try to incorporate the Law Of The Farm into your thinking. Don’t get frustrated when reaching your goals is taking too long . It always seems that way when you are climbing the mountain but when you get there oh what a majestic view and reaching your goals was so worth the effort.

Remember you are not alone. We all have to work at reaching our goals on a daily basis and it doesn’t get easier because as you grow the goals get bigger.

Take it one day at a time and keep your eye on the prize do the things daily to reach your goals.

What struggles have you had in your journey to success?  Do you think you will ever be satisfied with your level of success?  I would love to hear about the trials and tribulations you have gone through or are going through in your journey.

If you enjoyed this blog post please don’t forget to share it with others.

The Surprising Truth About Baby Boomer Entrepreneurs

Baby Boomer

Harold and me on the beach in Mexico!

Baby Boomer is the biggest trend in history and they are getting younger in attitude and actions.

Now is the right time to take a look at what a Baby Boomer can do for your business. They are looking for opportunities.

This news may not be a total surprise but I do want to share some surprising facts I’ve put together , first let me tell you I too am a Baby Boomer  and after a long conventional career I started my own business, online as well as multilevel.

Let’s get started:

Did you know the highest rate of successful entrepreneurship age group is the Baby Boomer sector? I read recently  that the age group 55-64 have twice the success rate of those in the 20-34 age group.

Here are some reasons why a Baby Boomer is a good prospect for multilevel marketing and also online marketing:

  • A Baby Boomer has experience in a lot of areas , they bring a lot of knowledge to the table
  •  a Baby Boomer has established many long term relationships, through family, friendships and business.
  • They have the time and money to invest in a business
  • A Baby Boomer is  willing to work hard and has the motivation to succeed.
  • They like to live a certain level of lifestyle.
  • They are looking for a portable business to take with them on their trips.
  • A Baby Boomer wants to be their own boss.

Baby Boomer Fact: There are 7 million Americans over the age of 50 who work for themselves?

The  AARP reports that 1 in 6 Baby Boomers who work for others hope to be self-employed at some point. This is great news if you are in multilevel marketing and are looking for great prospects. A Baby Boomer is a good fit for most multilevel opportunities, they bring a lot to the table.

Terms are popping up in the media such as Encore Career and Second Chance Career and Second Act. Organizations such as AARP and even the Wall Street Journal are adding columns to their sites which cater to the Baby Boomer sector considering self-employment.

Why is Baby Boomer entrepreneurship such a hot topic these days? I think it’s because of reasons stated above but they enjoy staying active, they enjoy a challenge and they would like to replace retirement money they may have lost through investments and our weak economic times.

Baby Boomer Entrepreneur Reality Show:

Shark Tank is a number one reality show on ABC. It airs on Friday nights at 8 CST and 9 EST . The show is about Venture Capitalists  taking a serious look at contestants and their business or product ideas. The average age of these contestants is just shy of 54. The show puts budding entrepreneurs in front of Venture Capitalist where they  present their business ideas. The Venture Capitalists if interested bid on the idea and if they win the bidding  become a partner with the entrepreneur. This gives the entrepreneur the money to pursue their dream.  Many Millionaires have been made because of this show.

Shark Tank is one way to start your own business when you have a winning idea but there really is an easier way and that’s called multilevel marketing and also using the internet marketing to attract leads.

What better way to start your own business than with little overhead and all of the problems of starting your own company already solved?

As a multi level marketer you can be sure a Baby Boomer is out there looking for what you have to offer.  You are in a great position to share your opportunity  without your Baby Boomer prospect expected to lay out a huge amount of cash to begin their business. They or anyone else can get started easily.

I recently talked to a Baby Boomer who told me he has started 4 conventional businesses in his career and is looking to start up his 5th business but this time in multilevel marketing.

To find Baby Boomers  look for expos and other group events where you can meet and share your opportunity with them. Remember the Baby Boomer trend is the largest trend in history and the opportunities to involve a Baby Boomer in your business  are plentiful.

The Reluctant Entrepreneur

Entrepreneur: a person who organizes and manages a business undertaking, assuming the risk for the sake of profit.

Is it no wonder some of us are reluctant…there’s that word….RISK!entrepreneur

Have you ever thought you might be going in circles in your life and not fulfilling your dreams?  You have an itch but can’t seem to scratch it.

You know you want something more out of life but not sure what that something could  be.

I had those thoughts too and this blog post is about  how we make life changing decisions and why we sometimes are forced into letting go of our security blanket so we can let something else into our lives even if it seems like we’re taking a risk. We may even have to start from scratch terrifying and nerve racking as that might be even worse it could be out of our control.

So if you think you might not be manifesting the life you desire because of the fear related to taking a risk read on:

I’ll confess when I had my day job I really wanted to do something different and had thought about it for a long time.

I wanted to do my own thing and maybe be an entrepreneur.

Anyway this was one of my fantasies but it held risk and I knew it all too well. I had worked (like a dog) for many years for financial security but yes I admit I was burned out and used up physically. I just wasn’t quite ready to “give it up” mostly for  those financial reasons too many risks involved in letting it go.

I finally made a decision to retire and had a timeline going, only had a few more months before I reveled this to my co workers and boss., it wasn’t official yet but I  was in that mindset…I’m going to retire soon and maybe follow my dream to be an entrepreneur  maybe. Retiring would give me the cushion I needed to make this happen or so I thought…..

I was working toward the light at the end of the tunnel and I had a glimpse of it just there beyond my reach.

Then one day my boss wanted to meet with me. Turns out it was really not a meeting but a “lynching” it was unexpected and I sat there in disbelief. There was nothing I could do. The exact words he used “We’re going to have to let you go,” nice going! He fired me.

I remember him saying, now if you think you might cry on the way home just pull over on the side of the road and don’t be driving while your upset little lady! Ha! I wanted to burst out laughing and had to control the urge. You know you’re ready to leave your job if you start laughing when they tell you you’re fired! My heart was saying yipee! In hind sight what he really did was open the cage to let me fly. I’ll send a thank you note one day soon.

I’ll confess I did cry but I only cried a little bit and that was days later when I had time to think about the total injustice of it . I wanted to be the one to break up! I wanted to be in control and I wanted to be the one to say GoodBye!

I was the oldest person in our department and one of the highest paid so of course it makes perfect sense they let me go months before my retirement. Unfortunately this scenario seems to be all too familiar in Corporate America today and might have happened to some of you. Poor pitiful us. Never!

Nope for me  it was the beginning of a whole new exciting chapter, finally I could be an entrepreneur.

Luckily I’d already started down the entrepreneurial  road and didn’t even know it. I’d joined an MLM start up company in pre launch months earlier my friend begged me to join in her down line. The company quickly fizzled but I had a taste of what could be, what was possible. So I soon joined another MLM.

I had picked myself up , dusted myself off and dug into my new career as…… drum roll please….Entrepreneur!!!  I love the way that sounds….just lovely!

Now fortunately for you, you don’t have to go through what I went through to get what you want. The beauty of an MLM business is the flexibility to work part time say 10 hours a week while you build residual income by doing it this way you never have to have your security snatched out from under you. Some people call it their Plan B.

It’s been a little over a  year now and I can tell you this  I am happy! I love everything I’m learning and I’ve learned a lot. I’ve met some great people whom I never would have met except for what happened. I feel freer than ever. My business is growing. I will not lie it’s not easy starting from scratch  and it can be very challenging at times but I’m not gonna let anything block the path I’m on.

So if you find yourself in a similar circumstance just remember if it makes you nervous it’s probably a good idea. Risk can be a great motivator so be fearless, be a leader, forge ahead…never look back and don’t have any regrets…make the most of your circumstances.

Did I tell you I am blessed to have a great partner (my husband) who supports everything I do. It is such a blessing and I hope you have people in your life who give you unconditional love and support.

My journey as a reluctant entrepreneur  is really only just beginning. I am a very excited entrepreneur and can’t wait to see what will happen tomorrow and in the future and also track my own progress here online.

5 Ways Thanksgiving Can Teach Us About Abundant Living

Thanksgiving is a wonderful day of  the year.

It ushers in  the holiday and holy season. It is fitting that we give thanks at this time of year. How did we comeThanksgiving to celebrate this feast and what can it mean for us.

The Pilgrims came to this land in 1620 for religious freedom They gave up a lot, many even gave their lives. They were on a quest for something they were passionate about.

After a year of hardship and toll the first Thanksgiving Feast was celebrated in 1621.

The Pilgrims along with the Native Indians gathered together to celebrate the first successful harvest. This was a great day of gratitude for the blessing they were about to receive. Little did they know that their celebration and gratitude for their bountiful harvest would create a day of  thanksgiving  for our nation that is still  celebrated today.

What were the Pilgrims feeling on that Thanksgiving day so very long ago?

The word for what they were felling is gratitude. You could describe gratitude as a feeling of thankfulness for blessings or benefits you have received. We should all be grateful and acknowledge the kindness and help we receive along our journey in life.

Gratitude builds humility and generates acts of kindness,  the Pilgrims invited the Indians to come and share their blessing. Gratitude also evokes service and caring. Gratitude is the foundation for faith, courage , contentment, happiness, love and well being.

Being grateful  helps you direct your focus to the things you have and have achieved. It is a totally positive mental response and we all know we attract what we think. With gratitude you direct your focus to what you have and not what you lack.  This can change your consciousness and by changing your consciousness you can change your life. This helps you live a life of abundance.

If you are passionate about something and you are willing to sacrifice to obtain your goals you will most likely experience a lot of  gratitude. Gratitude for the people who have come into your life. Gifted, sharing and giving people who are willing to help you get what you want. The law of the universe requires you to pay it forward and to help others as well.

I practice Yoga and at the end of every class we are asked to take a moment of silence and give gratitude for the things we are thankful for in our lives. How powerful thanksgivingthis little moment is. If we all took a few moments each day, not just on Thanksgiving but everyday to give thanks for everything wonderful and good in our lives how do you think this would affect our outlook?

Here is what being thankful can do for you.

  1. It can help you focus on the positive things in your life. Your family, your friends, your opportunities.
  2. It can turn a negative into a positive. Be grateful for your challenges
  3. It makes you focus on what’s important in your life. Helps you maintain a positive outlook.
  4. It helps you to remember to thank others for all they mean and all they do for you.
  5. It helps you be humble and be thankful for all kindnesses you receive.

In closing I’d like to share this prayer of gratitude with you, the author is unknown:

Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,

If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something

For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.

During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations

Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge

Because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes

They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary

Because it means you’ve made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.

a life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends!

How Safe Is Your Twinkie?

Twinkie is vanished, gone, kaput.

What’s going on? How could this happen?

There are many things in our world unsecured these days, what about these?

How safe is your job?

How safe is your retirement?

How safe is your lifestyle?

Not trying to scare you here but things are changing, so let’s take a look at what happened to the Twinkie and how this can relate to your job, retirement or lifestyle.

We all know that after 82 years the Twinkie has met it’s demise.  Hostess the maker of the Twinkie is going out of business and as of last report How Safe Is Your Twinkiethey have already disappeared from the grocery shelves. So if you haven’t already grabbed your supply, sorry to say you are out of luck they are kaput.

Depending on your Twinkie view point this might be a good thing or it might be a real tragedy.

I have heard a lot of  wailing and gnashing of teeth going on within the Facebook community from those who cannot bare to live in a world without  their Twinkie. Wow! what a totally shocking turn of events. How’s your world without Twinkie?  Frantic Twinkie lovers have grabbed them up and even memorialized them with Twinkie parties  across the country saying goodbye to this preservative laden junk food. BTW in the course of my research I did dig up this fact: the shelf life of a Twinkie is 25 days not 25 years like some have reported.

Seriously now, let’s look at the bigger picture concerning the Twinkie. What does this really say about our economy and the world we live in?

What this says is we have another casualty in our weak economy. Unfortunately for the 18,500 Twinkie workers , thirty three Twinkie bakeries, 565  Twinkie distribution centers, more than 5,000 delivery routes and 570 bakery outlet stores all being laid off and shut down…just in time for the holiday season.  This did not come as a shock to those who follow the business.

It is getting harder for old American businesses to survive in a global economy. The cost of labor on a global scale is way down and part of the demise of Hostess was due in part to a union dispute. The company asked for wage and benefit cuts and the union refused to budge. The union blames Hostess for the closing and of course Hostess blames the union.

So here’s my take on all of this Twinkie tragedy,  from an early age you are told to get an education (while going into debt) then get a job because it willHow Safe Is Your Twinkie take care of you for the next 40 years. Sorry to say this is no longer the case for most.

I know this first hand because I too was a casualty of our changing economy.  So what can you do about it? I say you better be prepared. Get yourself a plan B and the sooner you start the better.

Check out all the options out there. Develop multiple streams of income. Don’t put all your eggs ( or Twinkies) in one basket.

My personal plan has been to start building an MLM business and while my down line is growing I am learning everything I can about marketing. I found a wonderful educational platform to help me figure out all this internet stuff and if you’re interested check it out click here.

Hostess with it’s Twinkie  is not the first company we have seen bite the dust  and it will not be the last by any means. We all need to take a long look at what is happening in the “Global Economy” and take steps now to cushion our fall if it happens to us. You can never have too many streams of income. They all add up.

If you feel threatened in this economy and you should, I encourage you to start with your plan B as soon as possible. Click here for more information.

Obstacles To Your MLM Success: 4 Things To Consider

Obstacles To Your MLM Success: 4 Things To Consider

road to success sign

obstacles to your mlm success

We all get excited about things from time to time. Heck if we didn’t life would be kind of boring. When you made the decision to join MLM  you got excited about the opportunity and  you began to envision your success.  How do you keep that vision alive in the day to day process of trying to build your business. You know those days when nobody is interested in your company or your product and they treat you like a leper.

This blog post is about the obstacles to your MLM success. I’m writing it to not only help you the reader but also to help myself. I think we need to do some positive self talk  from time to time to keep us motivated. The obstacles below represent a drift in your mindset. Don’t let this happen, stick with the plan.

Here are some Obstacles To Your MLM Success

1. Not knowing  Your Why?

I know this has been beat to death  but it is so important. It doesn’t hurt to remind yourself occasional what your why is.

Write it down! Think about it. You can never have too much detail!

My why: I’ve always been driven to succeed. I had a great career but due to circumstances I no longer have that career ( I can fill you in on the details if you’re interested).  To fill the void and prove to myself that I can be successful once again. To set an example for my kids that you can do what you set your mind to. To leave a legacy for them not just in money but in tenacity. The good news is this:  I love a challenge, I’m not afraid to try. I love learning new things and I like helping people. I just wish I had started in MLM earlier. You can never have too many streams of income!

2. Not being committed:

Do you believe in what you are doing?

There was a point not too long ago I thought about getting a part time job. I talked to Harold my husband about it. I asked his advice on this. He’s pretty smart and usually thinks before he answers which is a very good thing. He asked me a question. He said “Do you believe in what you are doing?” I said without hesitation “Yes I do”, Harold said to me, “If you believe in what you are doing then I believe in you.”  Wow, what better support could you ask for? I can’t disappoint him and I can’t disappoint myself. I’m now more committed than ever.

3.  Not Having Passion:

You have to be passionate about what you are doing. I recently joined a company with products that I am really passionate about. Find your passion, stick with it and be the best you can be. That’s a good recipe for success!

4.  Losing Your Focus:

This is one of the major obstacles to your MLM success.

Lack of focus can be a big part of the problem especially in “internet marketing”  when you are not finding success. You have to focus on one thing until you get it right.

I remember when I took my scuba certification course I had no idea how hard it was going to be. The course I took was advanced open water. I had many days and hours in the pool learning all the skills I needed to remember for my first ocean dive. The day came to jump off the boat and  I was petrified! I was thinking so hard about all the things I needed to remember and had learned that I forgot to breathe! I panicked and had to surface! Do you ever feel that way with your internet marketing ? I’ll be honest, I do. Sometimes you just have to scale back and focus on one thing at a time until you get it right and then you will see success! Do one thing until you perfect it!

In conclusion remember these things: know your why, be committed, stay passionate and focus, it also doesn’t hurt to remember to breathe! To learn more ways to overcome the obstacles to your MLM success click here.
